LENNY LANE AND LODI
Well, after it has been reported all over the internet that this angle was going to be scrapped, Lodi released this yesterday.
"For those of you that may have missed a past news update about my new angle with Lenny Lane... here is a brief repeat...Take it for what it is worth....I am in the business of sports entertainment....HELLO? Is everyone listening? Good... hope you keep paying attention because if you were thrilled, tickled, shocked or excited by the past few weeks... Hold on to your hat... Keep watching, it is going to get better yet.... Trust me...."
So, we have Lodi himself saying that he is going to continue the angle. What we may see is the homosexuality card get played down a little bit and have more of a focus on a fraternal bond.
At the Ventura press conference, it was announced that Jesse would be a special guest referee for SummerSlam. Also, it was announced that Jesse would be getting paid $100,000 for his appearance and that he would donate half to a charity for abused children and the other half to his local high school. This shows that Jesse is still a very down to earth guy at heart.
All right. That damn newsboard is floating around the internet as of press time. Continue to look for it, I know that it will show up VERY soon.
I do not know too much about the breaking Goldust story. Yeah, he has been out with a career ending back injury and he has not been used on camera for about three months. I have heard that he was let go by the company and I have heard that he quit. What do I believe? I think that if he was not let go by the WWF, they probably lowered his salary considerably. I really cannot believe that the WWF would let him go, allowing an eventual reconciliation with his father on the WCW television screens. Also, after a gimmick like Goldust, there is not much more that Dustin can do to grasp the interest of the fans in such an impressive way. I'll say it again, if the WWF did not let him go, then he probably is in line for a pay cut. Do not forget that his wife is stilled employed by the WWF. Heck, she is one of the founding members of P.M.S.!
I can tell you that the rumors of Golga being backstage at the latest NITRO are true. Whether he was looking for work or just saying hi is unknown. I think that he is still under the WWF's contract. Also, I never mentioned that last week the Big Bossman was backstage at a Saturday Night Taping for the WCW. No, he is not going back to the WCW. Heck, when one of the guys asked him if he wanted back in, he said "Hell no!" with a resounding authority. I believe it. I can't see why either one of the two men listed above would want back into the WCW. They are better off in the WWF. Speaking of Golga, I am thinking of starting an online campaign to have the WWF restart the Natural Disasters tag team. Typhoon is just wrestling the Southern independents and with Jim Cornette covering as many of those as he can, the WWF has a legit chance to get him back. Tell me what you think about getting Typhoon and Earthquake back as a tag team! I am really interested in what you all have to say about that subject!
Time to chop away at a rumor. A certain bigger site is claiming that Goldberg finally resigned with the WCW and that he will begin working again. Well, those of you reading this will get the truth scoop in that he cannot wrestle as of yet because of his doctors. He has not reached a deal with the WCW and is using his rehabilitation time to get a better contract. The WCW will not budge on their contract status and Goldberg seems to be the same way. When it all ends, I expect Goldberg to get back REALLY soon as the WCW needs him for ratings in a major way.
Now that I have brought up major ratings, all of us who said that Hollywood was the damper in the WCW that stopped them from getting those big ratings can shut the hell up! Oh what a difference a face push and a World Title match makes! This past NITRO, during the Hogan -v- Macho affair, the WCW scored their highest ratings in a LONG time by grabbing a 4.7 and 4.5. Those numbers are what led to the third hour surpassing the second hour in the ratings for the first time in weeks. I think that kudos are in order for the WCW officials who decided that the only way to get Hogan back was in a big championship match. Now, I would think that the only way to follow-up such a monstrous Monday Night NITRO main event would be to have Hogan defend against Sid. Agreed?
A newsletter was supposed to go out last night. I think that it did. In it was my take on the Jesse Ventura stuff, with a hint of my own style!

The WCW bookers are thinking about holding back on letting Ted DiBiase enter the managerial sector of the WCW since he was supposed to help Hammer get over. The bookers think that Hammer is just about done with his push at the moment, but that it will be starting up again in a few weeks or months even. I am thinking that if they really want to keep Hogan over as a face, they should have DiBiase come out and give a great face speech and then show his support of Hogan. This would eventually lead to a Hogan -v- Flair showdown at Starrcade with DiBiase backing Hogan and Anderson backing Flair. A nice scuffle outside the ring with Anderson and DiBiase would get a huge crowd reaction and Hogan and Flair put on two great matches at this past SuperBrawl and UnCensored. I mean, they re-wrote just what an older wrestler can do in the ring! I'll never forget watching Hogan "Hulk-up" against Flair in the cage and in their regular match! Truly Classic stuff!
