MILLENNIUM COUNTDOWN
With all thoughts focusing on this Monday's upcoming Live RAW broadcast, we here on the internet are left speculating on just who or what may show up as this Millennium Clock draws ever closer to 000:00:00.
The first thing that many internet fans will tell you is that you will be seeing Chris Jericho on RAW at the end of the Countdown. Well, I'm not saying that it won't happen, but the WWF hasn't come right out and said it so don't bet the farm on it. Besides the Jericho entering the WWF rumor, there is boundless speculation as to who or what we will see on RAW. Some of the many interesting and exciting things that I have heard from inside sources that pertain to this upcoming RAW are NOT WWF related! Some inside tracks believe that this will be thing beginning of another ECW invasion, but only until they get their own show! I really have no belief in this rumor, but it is out there so I thought that I would let you know!
Actually, the inside words are that there is just a small hint that the WWF is looking to throw all of their new talent out for grabs that night! What does this mean? Well, you saw Kurt Angle once on WWF television and we all know that he is just itching to get out there in front of the cameras. This may be his big break! Also, with the recent contractual negotiations with Stevie Richards and the Dudley Boyz, one has to believe that these men will be on RAW as well. Can you even begin to imagine what an impact the Dudleys will have on the WWF? Imagine it. The Acolytes just beat the hell out of their opposition. They are celebrating and all of a sudden the lights start flashing all different types of colors and then a big BAM is heard and the Dudleys walk down the ramp! The crowd is stunned, the Acolytes go to attack and find that they have met their match as far as toughness goes! Well, that's just a Balrog's speculation anyway.
Also on this upcoming RAW, Jesse Ventura will make an appearance. Already I hear it. "What does he think that he is doing?" This is the collective voice of all of the political analysts out there responding to Jesse going on RAW. Personally, when the Govenor shows up (if he does not just appear through a satellite hook-up), then I would love to see him walk down to the ring with his security and give an interview and then give some color commentating with Good old J.R.! That would be something to remember!
Today in the Columns section we debut Zack Taylor and his Shooting Straight From the Hip column! Also, the latest Food For Thought from the one and only Wrestlebabe! Check them out!
Remember that you now not only get my daily update, but you get Sidious' as well! Head over to The Dark Side and see what else is going down in the wrestling world! The link is at the top of the news report!
If you have heard that David Flair will be leaving the WCW to become a state trooper, you heard right, but not as right as you think. While it is true that David Flair will be exiting the WCW for law enforcement, don't expect to not see him on WCW television right away. There are reports that the WCW wants to use him to try and get back at Ric Flair and Arn Anderson for disagreeing with the booking committee on past occasions. With Hogan and Bischoff in charge of the WCW at the current moment, young David Flair is at their mercy. When all is said and done, look for that strap to be around Benoit and for David to be exiting the WCW. The question that I have is simple...will the Nature Boy be far behind his son? Truthfully, he has run his current course as the crazy President of WCW and now that Arn Anderson has been taken off WCW television for good, what else can the Nature Boy do?
While it would be something to see him in the WWF battling against the Rock or Austin, he does not have the sheer youth of these men and cannot be a player with them for a prolonged period of time. Through his current past with the WCW, one can see that not only can he be on the fan's good side when he pleases, he can have them booing and hissing him out of the building if he so chooses. All in all, time will tell with this story.
Look for Lex Luger to be returning to the ring within the next few weeks. There is some speculation that he will be used as a big name star in a mystery angle. I have already heard that once Bischoff reforms the nWo (IF he does) he will stake his claim by grabbing up guys like Nash, Hall, Steiner, and Sid and then hint that he has not only one surprise for Hogan, Goldberg, and Sting, but he has two of them! Then I would expect to see Luger and the lovely Miss Elizabeth return to the nWo and turn the good -v- bad war into a five on three battle (not counting Liz and Eric). At this point, I can see Macho turning face once again and joining the good guys with Bret Hart to even out the score and eventually have the two five man teams attack at Fall Brawl with the War Games main event. OR...I'm just playing the part of booker again!
