WWF MTV

If you guys saw that great documentary that the MTV crew did on the superstars of professional wrestling (Tony Atlas wants back in a WWF ring!), then you saw a very plain looking woman named Amanda Storm. For you long time lair folks, she was one of the original reporters on my newsboard when I opened it a few months back. Also, she was a great part of the lair at the time. For our newer lair folk, you may know her as a personality who writes on SCOOPS or a an independent wrestling star. I am trying to get in touch with her to see if she would like to return to the lair for a column or something. More on this as it comes!

I was not able to update yesterday because of me being sick. I am still sick. My stomach is constantly queezy and my head is pounding. Not feeling too good, but since I only work on the weekends, I should be able to update daily for this week, the week before we enter beta mode...more on that in the coming days!

Don't look for the Dudley Boys in the WWF quite yet. They are now the seven time ECW tag team champions. That's disgusting! I would like to see a match between them and Harlem Heat. The two most dominate tag teams in their respective federations for the past five or six years. Okay, maybe the Outsiders are up there, but the Heat has won the titles like eight times or something. It would be a great match.

The WWF is liking the response that Ivory is getting at house shows. Apparently, the fans are starting to like her as a sex symbol as well as a wrestler. You see, with women's wrestling, a true star is made by combing the right amount of sex appeal with as much talent as possible. Ivory is gifted in both areas!

Remember them terrible rumors about Michaels and Whisper breaking up? Not so! WOW Magazine's Bill Apter spent two days with them not but a few days ago and they are happy as two bugs in a rug! Also, they are expecting the little HBK in January. Hmmm...if it's a girl would it be the Heart Breaking Kid?

In ECW/WWF news, you all must know by now that Vince McMahon's Talent Relations Department (headed up by Jim Ross), has offered to let the ECW use both Giant Silva and Kurrgan in their product to help them develop. There are a few problems that Paul E. is having with this though. The usually way that things work out when the WWF lends the ECW a wrestler is that the ECW makes them (Al Snow) and the WWF grabs them back when they get big enough. This makes ECW look like a WWF training ground...not the image that they want as they head on to cable television. I expect the ECW to take this offer, but to have a clause or something in the contract that states both men must be with the company for a certain period of time.

Contrary to a completely wrong internet rumor, Mean Gene did NOT use the WWF as a leveraging tool when deciding whether or not to resign with the WCW. This rumor states that the WWF was not even interested in looking at him which is also dead wrong as Jim Ross has stated publically that he would love to have Gene back in the WWF in the home video department or as an in-ring reporter. To completely obliterate this rumor, Gene has NOT used his upcoming radio show as a leveraging agent in trying to milk more money from Turner. Basically, Gene wanted to retire two years ago (remember when he was not on NITRO for a few weeks), but the WCW convinced him to comeback. This time around, I don't think that he will be back.

Now that WCW has garnered the gang mentality that the WWF had in the summer of 1997, they are looking to add more stables to their roster. Currently, they have groups like the Englishmen, the Revolution, the West Texas Rednecks, the No Limit Soldiers, the Filthy Animals, the remains of the two nWos, and Triad/Flair groups. It is being reported that they want to add another group to this mix that would consist of luchadores without masks. Guerrera, Psychosis, and Silver King would be in the group. The problem that the WCW is facing with this is the fact that they want guys like Lizmark Jr. and La Parka to join this group (almost an lWo mentality). What I think would be good is to have the unmasked guys war against the masked guys. This would allow wrestlers like Ciclope and Super Calo to get involved as well. Just a thought, though.

Right now, the WWF is trying to get Jericho involved with all of their big stars. Watch RAW tonight, you'll see. However, with the response that a possible Rock -v- Jericho feud got last week, the brain trust of the WWF is just salivating over booking that one!

Sticking to the WCW, Raven has been very vocal to his friends backstage about wanting to leave the WWF when his contract expires. He has stated that he thinks his character cannot grow the way that it should in the WCW. I agree...the WCW is not the right place for him to expand his Raven role. This type of role would fit in great with the Undertaker and Paul Bearer and adding a superstar the calibur of Raven to the WWF roster would be great. However, while he would be great in the WWF, he would be perfect in the ECW. If Raven truly wants to expand his role and let his character morph itself into the new millennium, then he needs to get extreme with it again. He needs to rekindle that feud with Tommy Dreamer that made the ECW in many of the fan's minds. Lots of possibilities.

Site news: What If and The Dark Side sections have been updated.

Rumor has it that the WWF and Fox relationship is growing stronger. Take that for what it's worth.

Erin O'Grady as Crash Holly, the brother of Bob Holly? Hmmm...possibilities, but nothing can really be said about that until we see it. Another set of siblings in the WWF. Couldn't they just have like a long time friendship or something?

You know, I asked last week for the banner ad hits and the initial reaction was great, but then it started to go back down and there were barely any on Saturday for my Road Wild preview. I don't know what else to do. Please hit the sponsor. I give you results. I don't know what else to say, except that I will continue to revamp the lair and add to it as long as you ALL continue to hit the banner ad. Thank you very much!

Reportedly, some of the wrestlers backstage are lobbying as a group to Bischoff to get rid of Rodman for good. They don't like his attitude, his work ethic, or his appearance.

In my opinion, tonight is another RAW night. The WCW had a good PPV that was a step in the right direction, but the WWF and RAW is where it's at! Heck, one of my best friends who hated wrestling as early as this past March has become a big wrestling fan simply because of the WWF product. He is 18, so I guess that the WWF product really is geared towards the older members of society!

Notice that there is no Ross Report up for the coming week on WWF.com? Jim Ross has been taping tell all videos with the British Bulldog and his wife Diana. There are rumors that those videos may air as early as tonight! I would think that the WWF is going to save them for the RAW after SummerSlam, but you never know. I forget who, but someone told me that the WCW wanted to show that there were no hard feelings between them and the Bulldog and they reportedly offered him a contract and wanted to make him the leader of the Englishmen group consisting of Chris Adams, Steve Regal, and Dave Taylor. I think that the Bulldog made the right decision! That contract offer was just a rumor, though.

I should be back on our newsboard today! See you then!

Bye!!!
