More EXCLUSIVE Ken Shamrock News As Well As What Is Known About His Contract
Our friend Rik0290 sends us some more news on Ken Shamrock!
"Ken Shamrock vs. Kazuyuki Fujita proved to be a match that shocked the entire crowd. Shamrock, although much smaller, dominated the larger Japanese fighter with numerous strikes to the face and kicks to the legs. He was also able to defend Fujitas takedowns with punches and shoulder shots to Fujitas face at every turn. Then to everyones surprise, Shamrock looked pale as Fujita pushed him into the corner. He didnt suffer any strikes to speak of but he looked like he was going to pass out. He began to tell cornerman Pete Williams "Throw in the towel, Petey! My heart, my heart!" Those of us in the first few rows looked on in terror as the doctor began giving Shamrock oxygen. Many people in the crowd thought he had suffered a heart attack or was about to.
Disappointing to the crowd yes, but it must have been devastating to
Shamrock, as he was the dominant fighter for the entire match, at one point knocking Fujita down with a punch and twice more almost knocking him out on his feet.
Now it was Ken Shamrock x Fujita. Much like Vovchanchin in his prior match Fujita seems impervious to strikes. Shamrock would unload unbelievable bombs to Fujita's face and the Japanese fighter would just turn sideways from the hit, regroup after a split second and move forward for more. Ken couldn't take Fujita down and just continued to try to knock him out with bombs to the face and leg kicks. Shamrock just punched and kicked himself into exhaustion and after 9 minutes and 40 seconds he yelled for Pete Williams to just throw in the towel and he could no longer continue. This fight help put a lot of perspective into the Kerr x Fujita match at the Pride Grand Prix. If you want to beat Fujita, you better bring in antitank artillery as normal punches and kicks just won't do."
Hopefully our friend will be able to provide us with actual pictures of Ken Shamrock competing in the NHB Tournament! I asked some people about this Ken Shamrock interview that I posted yesterday and his quote that he might return to the WWF, but he has other promotions that want him. So far what I have found out is that his WWF contract has been suspended and that the WWF would be able to buy out the last year of his contract if he doesn't want to return. I am still looking for more news on this situation so I will let you know whatever I am told.
