Shooting on WWE's Unprofessionalism
February 13, 2005
Welcome back once again to the Inner View, it's not too often I start a column out this way but since it seems noone else seems to want to say much about this unprofessional and down right disgusting situaation, I will.
The way WWE has been using Eddie Guerrero's death to try and get ratings, and Randy Orton over as a heel is complete and total bullshit. Not only is it bad, and disrespectful to everything the buisness is supposed to be about, but it completely kills the legacy and life of Eddie Gurrero. I got phsyically sick to my stomach at the comments Randy Orton was scripted to make on Smackdown last week. Allowing him to openely state Eddie Gurrero is in hell is sickening to me as a wrestling fan, and as a person in general. If Vince had any respect for this buisness he supposedly help to buld to what it is today he would fire his writers for even considering that being said about a man who just passed away.
Especially a man that gave as much to this buisness as Eddie Gurrero did.
They did the same fucking thing with Terry Gordy's death by allowing Edge to make the comments he made to Doc Hendrix.
Using his death to try and get Rey Mysterio over as a top face leading into No Way Out isn't any better either.
It's cheap and very unprofessional.
What the hell is the buisness coming to?
I mean a couple of years ago we had to deal with the likes of KAtie Vick story lines and MAe Young giving birth to a hand, which is so down right idiotic it's hilarious, but disrespecting people that help build the foundation of this buisness by paying their dues the old school way and earning their shots, by letting a couple of kids who eased their way into the buisness put their good name to bad use is terrible.
One of the main aspects of the buisness and sport of professional wrestling buisness is respect, and I highly, highly doubt Eddie Gurrero would want his name dragged through the mud the way it has been since he passed away.
Is anyone stopping to think about his friends, or his family while writting these storylines?
What about Rey MYsterio and Chavo Gurrerro?
What happens if one of Eddie's kids turns on the television to watch WWE and they see the crap WWE is doing to their daddy's name? It's not right, it is hard enough losing someone you love and care about, Eddie's family shouldn't have to go through anymore involving Eddie's death they have already been through enough losing Eddie in the first place. I would highly reccommend all of us stop watching Smackdown if any of you can actually sit through that and enjoy it and not have something to say about what they are dong, then in my opinion you are no better than they are.
The fact Smackdown can be rated fifth for the night is pathetic, I'd have a smile on my face if i saw that drop to dead last they don't deserve viewers with this crap.
What I wouldn't give for five minutes alone with the person who is writting this storyline, I'f just as soon break his face as I would take a breath of air now you can call that a shot if you want, but it's the truth, anyone who would do something like this isn't very much of a person, and it's pissing a lot of people off, it's just a damn shame a lot of them don't have the ability to voice their opinions the way some of us do.
I would rather never watch professional wrestling again than see any further misuse of names of people who have died.
Look at the ECW One Night Stand show.
They spent a good 5-7 minutes thanking and saying goodbye to people who have died in this buisness, One of those men was Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy then on WWE they turn right around and spit in his face with the comments Edge made.
The real problem is if you watch a daytime soap oprea you are gonna see very similar stories than you do when you watch WWE programming, why is that? Because that is where WWE gets their writers, Hollywood, it's an evil, shallow place to make a living in.
You want ratings you want, good wrestling, give someone a mic and give them freedom.
You don't have to use the death of good men/women who have died just trying to make a living in this buisness for us, this buisness isn't for you Vince Mcmahon it is for us, and noone wants to see Eddie Gurrero's or anyone elses name for that matter used in this way anymore.
you're a son of a bitch and i hate your guts
