Pre-Prediction Comments:

Josh Fox:
WRESTLEMANIAAAAAAAAA, The grand daddy of them all, the Super Bowl of wrestling, the World Series of sports entertainment. Okay I got a little carried away, who cares it's WRESTLEMANIAAAAAAA BABBBBBBYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!

Dastardly Dave:
WMXX has arrived. Its finally happened! Who would've thought it would last 20 years?! That's amazing. Great to see such a nice card put together and lets just hope the matches themselves don't leave the fans disappointed.

Lou Corsaro:
I’m really excited for WrestleMania XX, but part of it comes from anticipating the unexpected. I think it’s a very solid card, but I can’t say there’s one match that stands out for me. The Brock rumors certainly throw things off a bit, but the WWE should generally be proud of how well they’ve set up many of these matches. But enough talk! I’m ready to go!

Shawn Stinson:
The showcase of the immortals is always and I will be willing to go out on the limb, always the premiere pay-per-view of the year. Since this is celebrating 20 years of the inception of this genre. And with the backstage excitement in the last week, I'm sure the planning for this event has been tossed aside and started from scratch. I'm looking forward to see this event.

Joe Balrog:
Hey folks! The other day I saw Vince on CNBC and he said that the reason they titled WMXX "Where it all begins...again" is because they plan on booking the event to show people who their new stars and the fans' new heroes will be for the next era of wrestling. I look for the Cenas, Mysterios, Haas's, Benjamins, Cades, Garrisons, etc. to really come out of this event with a big "rub". If they don't win their matches then I expect them to be booked as outstanding wrestlers in the meantime. I really think that Vince is going to do what WCW tried to do with their "New Blood" vs. "The Millionaire's Club" ideology - basically, I think that he's going to use WMXX as the major stage for the transition from the old "Attitude" era to the new era. And I'm looking forward to it!

Christian vs. Chris Jericho

Josh Fox
Prediction: Christian
Thoughts: As much as I want so say Jericho I think Christian may have manipulated Trish and I think she may help Christian get the win.

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: Christian
Thoughts: This has been a rather interesting storyline, and I feel there is potential for this to continue. Having said that, Chrisian is a good character in WWE who can really captialize from a WrestleMania push.

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: Christian
Thoughts: Jericho and Christian have booked much better than what happened during the break-up of Edge and Christian. Plus, who was waiting to drive Christian off? I would have Edge as the driver and have him as a heel. Wouldn't that be a nice shocker at Wrestlemania have Edge come out and interfere in the match to aid his brother Christian over his friend Jericho? Makes more sense than trying to turn Trish heel.

Mike Valente
Prediction: Jericho
Thoughts: This will be one of the best matches of the night. Hell, the in ring work displayed by these two men might steal the show. The storyline has been going for a good 6 months and it should be interesting to see who wins. I’m picking Jericho but I have the feel Christian is going over to continue the feud.

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: Christian...to help keep the feud going a little longer.
Thoughts: Jericho vs Christian started being setup months ago. The question though was, when would it all culminate. WMXX is where. This has had a great storyline and a great build up. Both are great athletes and can perform great with anyone. So when these two step into the ring together, expect nothing but a great match if given the right amount of time. What do I see happening though? Trish actually turning on Y2J and siding with Christian. Maybe she was the one driving the getaway car on Raw? Anyone think of that??

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: Chris Jericho
Thoughts: A nicely set up feud, even if some of the Trish-Jericho moments have bordered on the melodramatic. Still, one great wrestler and one very good one should make for a top-notch match. I would expect the feel-good ending with Trish and Jericho kissing in the ring, since that’s what they seem to be setting up. Some type of swerve here wouldn’t surprise me, though.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: Chris Jericho
Thoughts: This has been a nicely built feud - but Chris Jericho is going to get the payoff for taking the crap from Christian for the past few weeks.

Open Cruiserweight Championship Elimination Match

Josh Fox
Prediction: Chavo
Thoughts: Chavo is barely getting his push, and he needs this win to make his push remain solid.

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: Chavo
Thoughts: Since I haven't watched Smackdown much the last few months, I haven't kept on top of what is going on here. I'm sure this has the potential to be fun to watch, but WWE usually screws the cruiserweights, so it's kinds of hard to get excited about anything associated with the cruiserweights these days. So who are the participants going against Chavo? I can assume Jamie Knoble, Rey Mysterio, Nunzio and a few others. I really don't feel qualified to properaly predict this match, so to stay on the safe side, I will stick with Chavo.

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: Chavo Guerrero
Thoughts: I really don't think this is going to be much more than a spot-fest after spot-fest. Once again, the writers didn't come up with anything good so instead have a cluster of a match. Yuck. It's going to be like the Hardcore Title free-for-all a few years back, too much action going on to see all of it.

Mike Valente
Prediction:
Thoughts: Looking for a WCW style here. I hope it’s good. Let all of the men run at Chavo and let Chavo proceed to whip all their butts. This will elevate him as a top heel on Smackdown!

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: And still Cruiserweight Champion....Chavo Guerrero Jr.
Thoughts: This just isn't fair to the other cruiserweights. Only 4 of the 10 are actually possibilities of winning. Rey Mysterio, Chavo, Tajiri, and Kidman. Why not just have another Fatal 4 Way? Its not fair to tease the fans with a possible Shannon Moore win or to see Paul London finally make a name for himself. We all know its going to come down to Mysterio and Chavo and if the WWE is smart, Chavo will win. He's gotta keep his momentum. You can lose tag matches on SmackDown but you HAVE to win the pay per views to solidify yourself as champion.

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: Chavo Guerrero Jr.
Thoughts: Let’s face it: only a couple guys ACTUALLY have a chance here, and they are Chavo, Rey Mysterio and Tajiri. Anyone picking Nunzio or Shannon Moore here? Didn’t think so. Bottom line is, beating 10 men to keep the title builds up Chavo as a credible champ and he’ll drop it to Rey later on.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: Chavo
Thoughts: The ONLY reason that I think Chavo is going to win is because his father will be there. If his Dad gets taken out in some form, then I'm all for Rey Mysterio taking the title.

United States Championship
John Cena vs. The Big Show

Josh Fox
Prediction: John Cena
Thoughts: It's only a given Cena would win, he is fresh, over, and it's his time to wear a little gold.

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: John Cena
Thoughts: I use to really really dislike the Big Show. I'm not a fan of his now, but he's had a good year so far, and wasn't so bad towards the second half of 2003. Having said that, it's time to justify John Cena's push as a face with some gold. Since Show has held the title, I kind of forgot the U.S. Title exists.

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: John Cena
Thoughts: Cena is an up-and-comer. I think the company is going to give him a test-title like the US Championship to see how he does with it. Plus, if the Big Show is legit injured then it only makes sense to throw the belt on Cena. When Cena gets the belt, he is going to have to learn to carry guys to good matches. I think he will learn to do that trick and will soon start headlining PPVs in years to come.

Mike Valente
Prediction: John Cena
Thoughts: Big Show claims he is the most dominant U.S. Champion in history. I guess Billy Gunn was a tough opponent. John Cena will be your new U.S. champion and they really need to continue to build him up. Let him run with the title until Summerslam or something.

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: And new U.S. Heavyweight Champion....John Cena
Thoughts: Big Show's been saying he's the most dominating US Champion? Yeah he is. Considering he defends the belt like once every 30 days against people who would normally stand no chance whatsoever. And personally, in my opinion, defending it against 2 jobbers was nice. It showed how Show can dominate. But why not have him go over two guys like Orlando Jordan and Hardcore Holly? You're not that great if you have to beat 2 local jobbers. Show needs to drop the title and let Cena have a nice run with it for awhile

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: John Cena
Thoughts: This is a stepping stone to stardom for Cena. I like the Big Show all right, perhaps a little more than most of you out there, but I can agree it’s a complete waste of time for him to even sniff around this title. They’d be crazy not to use this as a coming out party for Cena, who should be fighting in the main even by this time next year.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: John Cena
Thoughts: I think that Cena is going to take it (see my Pre-Prediction Comments for the reason why). However, I also think that this loss is going to elevate the Big Show back into the WWE Championship scene.

Playboy Evening Gown Match
Sable & Torrie vs. Stacy & Jackie

Josh Fox
Prediction: Undecided
Thoughts: This match I could actually care less about, It's just a lame excuse to see women half naked. If I wanted that I'd go get a Playboy....lol, How ironic is that?

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: The fans... I think :-/
Thoughts: This is probably the one match, I could care less about the most. At least with the women's title match, you have two women wrestlers who have talent and will put serious effort into this match. This match, is just to publicize the Torrie and Sable Playboy, which already is like a month or two old. This match also was made to increase buyrates, because all the kiddies who watch wrestling are hoping to see the true T&A. While the match is going to be horrible, all will be forgiven if some skin is shown. Allright, I admit, I will be watching this match for the same reason...

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: Stacy & Jackie
Thoughts: I think all red-blood straight American men will be the winner in this match. Seeing three young ladies in their prime getting stripped equals fun to me. Ok, so Sable is not young anymore, but she still is nice to look at. With Lesnar hitting the bricks, it is going to be interesting to see what they do with his main squeeze Sable. I think the start will be the loss at Wrestlemania. And whoever said Vince McMahon didn't hold grudges.

Mike Valente
Prediction:
Thoughts: Mmm women.

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: The fans hehe
Thoughts: Who cares. We all know why this match is taking place. Its for the T&A. Because we all know these girls cant wrestle.

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: Torrie & Sable
Thoughts: Does Stacy EVER win these kind of matches? No. Does Torrie EVER lose these kind of matches? No. Enough said.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: Torrie and Sable
Thoughts: Come on - the real winners here are the guys who love to see lovely women who are scantily clad! As for the reason that these ladies win? You think "Playboy" would lend its name to a wrestling match and then have their "team" lose?

Return to the Match Listing

Women's Championship Hair Match
Molly vs. Victoria

Josh Fox
Prediction: Victoria
Thoughts: I only see Victioria winning because usually when the heel risks something like hair they almost always wind up losing.

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: Molly
Thoughts: There is no way Molly is going bald. On a sidenote, it's time Molly brings back the blond hair. She has the potential to be hot with it!

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: Victoria
Thoughts: Now I'm not hoping to see a bald Molly on Raw, but I think Victoria has to keep the belt. I have enjoyed the women's division since they dropped Sable from the title hunt like 10 years ago. These women bust their butts each time they are thrown into a ring. I think this will be a nice change from the T&A that is going to be in the other women's match of the evening.

Mike Valente
Prediction: Victoria
Thoughts: I like the stipulation in this one. Victoria really needs to get over with the fans. She’s champion and she’s not totally over. That is sad. Molly will be shaved bald at WrestleMania. Why would they put the stipulation in, if they’re not going to do it?

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: And still Women's Champion...Victoria
Thoughts: Please dont make Vicky job two WM's in a row!! Vicky is a face now and the fans love her. Let her keep the belt. Molly with no hair? Hahaha. Well, is it actually bald like Kurt Angle or the whole butch, lesbian look? Hmmm....will have to wait and see.

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: Victoria
Thoughts: I’m torn on this one here, man. On the one hand, I just don’t see the WWE actually allowing Molly to get her head shaved in the middle of the ring. As a result, the stipulation seems to make it obvious Molly will win. On the other hand, just because Molly loses, doesn’t mean her head will get shaved. Outside interference — like maybe a returning Gail Kim? — could prevent that. Plus, I just love Victoria.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: Victoria
Thoughts: Dude, the thought of Molly with a shaved head is nasty. I thought she was a great Women's Champion and I think that she should get the belt back. But not tonight. Maybe on RAW or at the next PPV, but I just don't feel it at WrestleMania.

WWE Tag Team Championship
Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty vs. The World's Greatest Tag Team vs. The Basham Brothers vs. The APA

Josh Fox
Prediction: WGTT
Thoughts: I think they gave the titles good meaning, and they are great athletes, and haven't had the belts in awhile. I see them taking this one.

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: The Basham Bros.
Thoughts: Again, I haven't followed the tag team situation. A quick question, who ARE the tag team champions on Smackdown right now? I'm not kidding, I seriously don't know! From what I have seen, I take it the Bashams are getting pushed, and have the momentum.

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: WGTT
Thoughts: See previous comments about the World Tag Championship match and insert Rikiski, Scotty 2 Hotty and the APA for the others.

Mike Valente
Prediction: WGTT
Thoughts: Same deal here. Rikishi and Scotty don’t deserve those belts. They deserve to get the hell out of the WWE. How about creating new gimmicks like the Basham’s instead of bringing back the APA and Too Cool. WGTT better win and that’s the bottom line. (Sorry for gnashing my teeth)

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: And new Tag Team Champions.....The Worlds Greatest Tag Team
Thoughts: The fans loved having Rikishi and Scotty winning the titles. But it appears the WWE has found it necessary to make the champs look like complete losers and have them become the jobbers to the other tag teams. Does this spell a title drop at WMXX? I hope so. And I hope the belts go to TWGTT. This team is the best team I've seen in a long time and they are two great heels. Plus, TWGTT got shuffled back out of the titles back when Los Guerreros were hot.

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: WGTT
Thoughts: Let me first say that, if booked properly, this has some potential. I love Haas and Benjamin, and I think the Bashams are underrated. The heels are the strong ones in this match, and I hope we see them lock up quite a bit here. I don’t see either face team walking out champs, and Haas/Benjamin could really use a boost here.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: WGTT
Thoughts: You can see my Pre-Prediction comments for the reason why I think that these guys will get the "W" at WrestleMania.

Return to the Match Listing

World Tag Team Championship
Booker T & RVD vs. Mark Jindrak & Garrison Cade vs. La Resistance vs. The Dudley Boyz

Josh Fox
Prediction: Cade and Jindrak
Thoughts: I think it's about that time that a fresh team gets a run with the straps give the titles a little more meaning.

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: Jindrak & Cade
Thoughts: Wow, I really have not been paying close attention to the tag team situation. This kind of goes to show how poor the tag team division has become through the years. I predict Jindrak & Cade because, from what I've seen, WWE is attempting to push them, and that push will be justified if they win the gold.

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: Jinkrak & Cade
Thoughts: I am even less of a fan of four-way matches then of triple-threat matches. I don't even know why this match got put together other than the fact the creative team didn't know what to do with these guys so they decided to make a match with all of them. They will be the usual spots from the likes of Booker T, RVD and the Dudleys, but it will probably make of ugly television.

Mike Valente
Prediction: Booker T. & RVD
Thoughts: This will be a middle-of-the-road type of match. There is absolutely no freshness in the tag-team division. The Dudleys have had the belts millions of times (notice exaggeration) and they certainly don’t need them again. It’s upsetting that Booker T and RVD have to be a tag-team to get on the WrestleMania card. Jindrak & Cade who are jealous of R. Kelly need a flippin’ gimmick. I see Booker T and RVD retaining just because they deserve a win at ‘Mania. Otherwise give it to La Resistance. Got to love Dupree’s dance!

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: And still Tag Team Champions......Booker T and Rob Van Dam
Thoughts: As much as I really want to see Cade and Jindrak finally get their title run, I think it might be a little longer before that happens. Since Jindrak did get the pin on Booker on RAW, maybe a title defense at the next PPV sees them winning it. But on this night, La Resistance, The Dudleys, and Cade/Jindrak have to "dig it sucka" as RVD and the Booker Man will be victorious and retain their titles.

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: RVD & Booker T
Thoughts: My first thought was Jindrak and Cade would get over with the titles. The bottom line, however, is they just have no following among the fans right now. Booker T and RVD both were screwed at last year’s WrestleMania (Booker jobbing to Triple H, RVD stuck on Heat), so I’m gonna hope McMahon does right by them here.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: Jindrak and Cade
Thoughts: Again, I refer you to my Pre-Prediction comments.

Return to the Match Listing

Rock 'N Sock Connection vs. Evolution

Josh Fox
Prediction: Rock 'N Sock Connection
Thoughts: Seeing as though this may be the only time we see these guys together again, I'd like to imagine they go out on top.

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: Mick Foley & The Rock
Thoughts: This match was made to make the fans happy. The Rock and Mick Foley, I assume, will be off WWE TV after 'Mania. Nothing more, I don't expect, will follow this match.

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: Rock and Mick Foley
Thoughts: It will be interesting to see what Foley has left in his tank after being out for so long and can the Rock hold his own as well. I think this is going to be a fun-type match where Foley pulls out a couple of weapons and goes after Randy Orton. They should make this a no-DQ match or weapons-match, at least I would because the Rock and Foley won't be able to match the younger Batista or Orton for too long. And if the story is true about Flair having physical problems, I don't think he will be too much of a matter.

Mike Valente
Prediction:
Thoughts: It was an emotional ride the last few months between Randy Orton and Mick Foley. I would have liked this to be a one on one contest but some feel Orton isn’t ready and by adding in other members, it would take some of the pressure off. The Rock coming back has added a comedic component to this match and for me, it has somewhat ruined the feud. The last few weeks Evolution has beaten up Mick Foley so much, it has been portrayed in my mind that it will be The Rock N Sock dancing all over Evolution. Once again...hopefully they stay with the original purpose. Get Randy Orton over.

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: Rock N' Sock Connection, The Rock and Mick Foley
Thoughts: Evolution needs to lose this, cause the friction to begin to rise, and allow themselves to self destruct. Its time Orton went on his own. Batista gets a singles push and eventually fights Orton. Flair needs to just retire in general. And HHH needs to do something because having a group fight your battles isnt a good way of saying you're the Game. It just shows you're the Wuss. Plus, Rock and Foley have done a nice job of making Evolution look like a good stable so what better way of saying thanks than a nice win at WMXX?

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: Rock & Foley
Thoughts: Sure, at first glance it seems obvious Evolution would win to get over Orton and Batista. But we’ve seen them get over by whupping Foley’s ass for what seems like forever. It’s Foley’s first match back in a loooong time and it may be the only time we see Rock this year. I think Flair takes one for the team and gets pinned, and somewhere down the line — maybe Backlash? — we get that Orton-Foley one-on-one match to settle it all.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: The Rock 'N Sock Connection
Thoughts: Wrestling 101: "You don't completely annihilate your opponent every week leading up to a major PPV and then go on to beat him at the PPV. You are required to lose this match so that the fans feel vindicated."

Return to the Match Listing

Stone Cold as Special Guest Referee
Goldberg vs. Lesnar

Josh Fox
Prediction: Draw
Thoughts: I see Stone Cold taking them both out and counting them down, causing a draw.

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: No Contest
Thoughts: Prior to knowing that Lesnar was leaving the company, this prection would have been a no-brainer. With Lesnar and Goldberg both leaving WWE after WrestleMania, I seriously have no idea what may happen. How do you book a match like this? The only idea I have is to setup this match to be a true "slober knocker." Allow them to beat the hell out of each other. Bloody themselvles up! Allow Austin to get physical in this match. What else can they do? On a personal note, before I knew Lesnar was leaving, I was hoping this feud Austin and Lesnar mini-feud would somehow, setup a match between the two at SummerSlam or in the near future, that is, if Austin was willing and able to do so.

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: No one
Thoughts: What a problem the company is faced with this one. Brock Lesnar is going to take his ball and go play football, while Goldberg is going to be showed the door after this match. Oops. I thought the build-up to this match was perfect, Goldberg interferes at a Smackdown-only PPV, Lesnar costs Goldberg a shot at the title during the Royal Rumble. Isn't this what a feud is supposed to be? One person costs the other something and the other one gets revenge, then they face each other to settle the score. Classic booking and for good matter, put a referee in the mix who has a problem with both. But all of this is tossed aside with both men not going to be in the mix come Monday night. Watch Stone Cold go nuts and we won't have a winner.

Mike Valente
Prediction: Brock Lesnar
Thoughts: This match will have me on the edge of my seat. Everyone’s heard the news. Both of these men are leaving after this event. I think MSG will be all over both men so hopefully its not a snoozer. I really do not know how this will go down. It will be very interesting. As far as a prediction goes – stick with the original plan WWE – Lesnar going over.

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: And in his last WWE hurrah for the moment.....Bill Goldberg
Thoughts: Goldies out after WMXX. Brock is out after WMXX. So who walks out of WMXX with the final win? No one knows. Personally, you send Bill out with a victory. He hasnt been the greatest wrestler but look who he has had to feud with. Bill hasnt bailed on anyone and has fulfilled his contractual obligations. And he's said he wouldn't mind doing a Rock-esque contract where he makes special appearances. Bill has done his best with what the WWE gave him. Brock is a cry baby who cant handle being a wrestler without the world title.

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: Brock Lesnar
Thoughts: The game just changed on picking a winner here. Who knows now? The Jim Ross comments on Lesnar were vague, but seemed to indicate the Internet rumors were true. Either way, I’m gonna take a chance and say the WWE is going to stick with the finish they’ve planned from the beginning.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: None
Thoughts: Stone Cold is going to win this match and I'll tell you why. 1) He's going to be in WWE after the show is over, 2) he's got more heat (good heat) than either man in the match, and 3) he's going to be remembered as the guy who put Brock Lesnar and Goldberg out of the company (at least the writer's can do that if they write it the right way).

Return to the Match Listing

The Undertaker vs. Kane

Josh Fox
Prediction: The Undertaker
Thoughts: As much as I've been saying Kane would win, I'm going to go back on my word just this once and say Undertaker will win, the Dead Man character should never be destroyed, especially at a Wrestlemania.

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: The Undertaker
Thoughts: This is a no-brainer. Kane got his heat at Survivor Series after buring his brother. With all the hype that is being put into 'Taker's return, what sense would it make to have him lose? That would take all the hype out of his character. On a personal note, I am looking forward to seeing what the Deadman has to offer following WrestleMania. Undertaker's WrestleMania undefeated streak continues!

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: The Undertaker
Thoughts: I'm not a fan of this overhype of the return of the Undertaker. In fact, I'm thinking the big guy should be thinking about heading to green pastures, rather than making a return. This match is probably not going to be the greatest thing to watch. I'm confused as to what the thinking of the company is, do they want to distance themselves from the fantasy stuff of the '80s or are they returning to that era? They have done a good job of showing Kane is no longer this magic man, but all that is obviously down the drain as the Undertaker comes back as the dead man. Blah

Mike Valente
Prediction:
Thoughts: Surprisingly, I am very interested in this match at WrestleMania. The way the WWE has set this match up has been very good and to no surprise will Undertaker get one of the pop’s of the night. As far as the match goes, it will be nothing special. Hopefully the crowd will be into it. I have to ask this question: What happens to Undertaker after this?

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: Hopefully....Kane
Thoughts: The build up is amazing. I actually had a dream where Kane came out and did a promo about how the guy with the hydrolics remote had a little too much fun on Raw. It was quite funny actually. Does the Undertaker keep his WM streak alive? I hope not. Kane has been booked as this unstoppable monster. Having him lose to the Undertaker would counteract everything that they've worked on with Kane. Kane needs this. Taker just needs a long walk off of a short pier.

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: Undertaker
Thoughts: One of the most anticipated matches on the card, and yet it’s one of the most predictable, at least in terms of who wins. Taker’s streak continues and he mows down everyone and their mother on Smackdown.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: The Undertaker
Thoughts: I take a different view on this match. I don't care that Taker is "getting stale" or is "going to no-sell" his opponents after the PPV. Screw that punditry bullshit. The fact is that The Undertaker has one of the last great "records" in wrestling history and he should remain undefeated at WrestleMania. And hey, if all else fails, read my prediction to the Evolution match and just apply that reasoning to this feud. =)

Return to the Match Listing

WWE Championship
Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle

Josh Fox
Prediction: Eddie Guerrero
Thoughts: Eddie is only a month into his reign, it only makes sense that he keep the title to further his push.

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: Eddie Guerrero
Thoughts: The idea of Lesnar leaving also places fear into this match. Again, I hope Vince doesn't panick and want the title on an already established character. Having said that, I think Eddie has what it takes to be a true champion, and I don't see the logic of having him win the title at No Way Out, only to lose it at WrestleMania.

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: Eddie Guerrero
Thoughts: This match is going to be exciting and technically sound, at least I think it should be booked that way. Both of these guys can carry a corpse to a good match, so putting these two guys in the same ring should be electric. However, sometimes two great wrestlers get into the ring and have zero chemistry. But with the PPV being stretched into five hours, I'm sure this match will have plenty of time to build a good story. I think taking the belt off Guerrero this early would be a bad idea, so I think Guerrero will definitely keep the title.

Mike Valente
Prediction:
Thoughts: This will be the match of the night. The in ring competition will be outstanding and I expect both these men to be really over with the crowd at MSG. Regardless of the storyline, which I have somewhat disliked, this match will be great to see.

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: And still WWE Champion....Eddie Guerrero
Thoughts: Kurt gets to be in the main event two years in a row? Wow. He mustve done something right. Eddie and Kurt promises to be match of the year so far and may in fact be THE match of the year if they work as well as everyone expects them to. Kurt walking out a loser would be nice because well quite frankly, Eddie is a good champion and it would be nice to see Kurt's promos about Eddie being a nothing be nothing but a crock. Latino Heat needs this win. Otherwise it just looks like he won the belt from Brock because of Goldberg. But hey, he's gotta lie, cheat, and steal to win right? How about if he enlists the help of someone? Why not right? Do what you gotta do!

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: Eddie Guerrero
Thoughts: We know Kurt Angle, who appears to be a truly nice guy in real life, has a healthy respect for Eddie and all he’s accomplished. He knows better than anyone this is Eddie’s time to shine and winning at WMXX will cement him as a top-shelf champ. With Lesnar possibly gone, I gotta believe they’ll want to try out Eddie as the top guy for a little while longer.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: Eddie Guerrero
Thoughts: With Angle's broken neck, I can't see him getting the title. Also, my Pre-Prediction comments apply here as well.

World Heavyweight Championship
Triple H vs. Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels

Josh Fox
Prediction: Triple H
Thoughts: I want to see Benoit win, but a win next month at Backlash when they are in Benoit's hometown might have more meaning.

Martin Hawrysko
Prediction: Triple H
Thoughts: With this being the so called, biggest show in WWE history, I can't see Triple H wanting to come out a loser in this show. I would love nothing more to see Chris Beniot as the champion, though. I do fear that with Brock Lesnar, it may have impact on this match, despite the fact that Lesnar is on a different brand. With Lesnar leaving, I fear McMahon will want the World Title to stay on an established character, and I still believe McMahon is not confident in Beniot. As for Michaels, he had his tribute paid to him and was champion for a short time in 2002. I'm not sold on Michaels being a fulltime champion.

Shawn Stinson
Prediction: HHH
Thoughts: I'm not a huge fan of triple threat matches. For the most part, it becomes a big cluster. However, if the house show match thoughts are accurate, then this should be pretty good. I'm not the biggest fan of HHH, nor am I happy with the way Chris Benoit has been booked, but in this showcase I'm willing to put everything aside. Shawn Michaels will be the key to this. He has been put in the middle by the writers. If Michaels can continue to have good matches, then by all means this will be a good match. Not a classic, but well-worth the price of admission.

Mike Valente
Prediction:
Thoughts: Chris Benoit deserves the chance to run with the championship. He has done more than earned a chance. He is one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the business and hopefully political happenings backstage will not cause this opportunity to reduce to ruble.

Dastardly Dave
Prediction: Unfortunately....still Worlds Heavyweight Champion...HHH
Thoughts: I would love to see H.B.K win the title. Why? Because HHH has had it long enough and Benoit vs H.B.K at Backlash would be a great pay per view match. The hatred that these two would help fan the flames. Think about it...H.B.K steps up, bullies his way into the main event for the title thus screwing Benoit out of the world title. Benoit wants revenge and takes it at Backlash in Canada. Thats right. Shawn Michaels, one of the most hated men in all of Canada puts over a Canadian! What a way of telling the Canadian fans to kiss his ass and forget the whole Montreal incident. But knowing our luck, HHH will walk out with the belt. Why cant he get injured and not make an appearance at WMXX therefore having to drop the belt? Hey...I can dream can't I?

Who Do I Want To See Win : H.B.K

Lou Corsaro
Prediction: Shawn Michaels
Thoughts: I have struggled with this one mightily and have deleted and re-typed each wrestler’s name. Here’s my semi-final take: Michaels wants this to be the final stand for him and Triple H. Benoit views it as his rightfully earned shot at the title. So how can we resolve it all? Michaels pins Triple H to win the title, and Benoit says he deserves the first shot at the title since he wasn’t even pinned and it was supposed to be HIS match at WMXX. Backlash gives us Benoit vs. Michaels, with Benoit taking it in a long, impressive match. I think.

Joe Balrog
Prediction: Chris Benoit
Thoughts: I write Chris Benoit as the winner because I really want my Pre-Prediction comments to be true and I really hope that Vince McMahon can grow a set and see that business boomed and "hype" came back into the company after Benoit won the Rumble. The people, the fans, the wrestlers - they've been waiting for Benoit to take control of a brand. And just as much as we've all been waiting for that to happen, we've been DYING to have HHH release his deathgrip on RAW. HBK is a nice touch in this match because now Benoit can beat HBK and HHH's ego can be assuaged. In a perfect world, Vince McMahon would be in charge of WWE and would be making the decisions. Vince McMahon would be the man that he supposedly "can" be - you know that guy. The one that screwed Bret Hart IN Canada! If Vince takes control of his company and if he really means what I heard him say in my Pre-Prediction comments, then not only will Benoit go over at the PPV, but he'll hold the title for a while and HHH will NOT.
