TBLWrestling.com Presents TNA Major Impact!

An Amazing Four-Way Match
August 30, 2007

Some of my online buddies have asked me if I'm now a TNA-hater given some of my negative comments in recent columns. Are you people stupid? I like TNA - I like the fact that it is the alternative. I like the fact that they have amazing young talent. And I love the fact that they are proving that a wrestling organization can exist on the national stage while they only work 6 - 10 dates per month.

I absolutely hate some of the crap that we've seen in recent weeks, though. But don't overlook the good things from the last few weeks...namely Karen Angle's introduction to the wrestling world and then immediate rise to the #1 character female in the business.

Tonight's Impact saw Team 3D destroy Scott Steiner in a relatively useless segment. Thankfully, this was followed up by the Voodoo Kin Mafia mixing it up with Sabin and Shelley. And hey, wouldn't you know that this segment also brought us our major impact moment of the night?

After the tag match, we had a bevy of tag teams storm the ring. Major impact! Why is this a major impact? Just look at the tag team scene in professional wrestling today - the fact that there is real tag team competition is impressive!

Funny how the Basham Brothers didn't stick around long enough to actually get involved in what could be one of the best tag team divisions in recent history...

Now, all things considered, the main event of the show really could have been the major impact of the night. What a completely fantastic four-way match to determine Kurt Angle's tag team partner at No Surrender!?

Sting, Christian Cage, AJ Styles, and Samoa Joe tore the house down. Some of the moves that AJ Styles hit in the ring were just unbelievable! And congratulations has to go out to Sting for wrestling an amazing match against considerably younger competition. Sting belongs in the main event and here's one guy that's glad to see him back there!

Overall, we had a much better show tonight than we had last week. I could probably do without Team Pacman, especially since Pacman can't actually wrestle or do anything physical besides run around. But let's hope the momentum stays with TNA!

Quote of the Night:
"I'm not gullible or stupid, okay? Wait are you serious?" - AJ Styles being gullible and stupid with Karen Angle
